Kyriakos Fragoulis is a graduate of the Department of History and Archeology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in the specialization of Archeology and Art History. In 2014, he acquired his MA degree in Byzantine Archeology at the same university, as a scholar of the Alexander S. Onassis Foundation. He is currently studying for his PhD in the Center for Byzantine, Ottoman and Modern Greek Studies at the University of Birmingham as a scholar of the Greek Archaeological Committee in the UK and the Alexander S. Onassis Foundation. Since 2007 he has been involved in the university excavation of Dion (Pieria), while he has also worked in excavations in Lasithi (Crete) and the Prefecture of Thessaloniki. He has participated in interdisciplinary research projects focusing on the collaboration of archaeological research with modern analytical and documentation technologies. In addition, since 2014, he has been the co-editor of the annual volume of the scientific journal Byzantiaka, published by the Hellenic Historical Society. His interests and relevant publications mainly focus on the study of Late Antiquity culture material in Greece.
